Using HiBeaver

Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you create a HiBeaver account and use its learning and optional community features.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the HiBeaver website, web application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

HiBeaver provides tools for English and IELTS practice, including learning content, review activities, saved work, feedback features, and optional community features. The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features as the product develops and will provide appropriate notice if payment terms are introduced.

3. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting access to your sign-in provider, and activity performed through your account. Tell us through the Feedback option in HiBeaver if you believe your account has been used without permission.

A linked Reddit account is an optional connected account. It does not replace your HiBeaver login, create a second HiBeaver account, or allow HiBeaver to receive your Reddit password.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create. You give HiBeaver a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the features you choose to use.

You must have the right to submit your content and must not use the Service to infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. Do not submit unlawful, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or malicious content.

5. Reddit community features

If you connect Reddit, you authorize HiBeaver to use the permissions shown on Reddit’s OAuth consent screen. HiBeaver will publish a Reddit post or comment through your account only after you take the corresponding action in HiBeaver.

You agree that:

  • your Reddit activity must follow the rules of the relevant subreddit;
  • your use remains subject to Reddit’s User Agreement and Content Policy ;
  • Reddit content and availability are controlled by Reddit, not HiBeaver; and
  • you may disconnect Reddit at any time.

Disconnecting stops HiBeaver from making future Reddit API requests for your account but does not remove posts or comments already published on Reddit. See the Reddit data deletion instructions.

6. Learning and automated feedback

Scores, explanations, suggestions, translations, and other automated outputs are provided for practice and may be inaccurate or incomplete. HiBeaver is not an official IELTS testing service, and its results are not certified IELTS scores. Review important outputs and do not rely on the Service for professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law or encourage unlawful activity;
  • harass others, impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • attempt to bypass authentication, permissions, rate limits, or security controls;
  • introduce malware or interfere with the Service or other users;
  • use automated access except where HiBeaver has expressly allowed it; or
  • use Reddit data outside the community functionality described by the Service.

8. HiBeaver materials

The Service, branding, software, interface, and HiBeaver-created learning materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for rights expressly granted in these Terms, HiBeaver and its licensors retain their rights in those materials. Third-party names, content, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, comply with law, address a material or repeated violation of these Terms, or respond to a third-party platform restriction.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that every learning result will meet your expectations.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HiBeaver will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, opportunity, profits, or goodwill arising from use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. For questions, use the Feedback option in HiBeaver and include “Terms question” in your message.
